Benefits of Reading

Nothing can enhance our knowledge and intelligence quickly besides reading. In other words, reading every day has a large impact on both personal and professional life.

Let me share one of my favorite quotes: “Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers.” Of course, not only successful people in history like Abraham Lincoln, General Aung San, and U Thant, but even the world’s brutal dictator, Adolf Hitler, was an avid reader.

As books are windows to the world, we can explore new places and gain different perspectives as authors share their experiences throughout their lives. Therefore, valuable lessons can be learned from others’ mistakes.

Studies have shown that reading can reduce stress, worries, and anxiety as it helps lower our blood pressure. By reading, you can develop your concentration and significantly increase your ability to focus.

Moreover, it has a huge positive effect on our memory, and all of us, especially students, should read every day. It is extremely beneficial for our competitive life and academic pathways.

Furthermore, we can develop our writing skills through reading, as writing and reading are a pair of skills in language learning.

In addition, reading can reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. It is also an excellent way to rest and relax our minds and souls. That is why reading is good for our mental health.

In conclusion, reading should be developed as a habit in our daily lives. Whether you are an adult or a teenager, grab a book, and let’s explore new worlds with a cup of coffee instead of scrolling down on social media when you have free time.
