What is Critical Thinking

Nowadays, there is one commonly used word that we have heard but don’t exactly know what it means in reality. That mysterious word is “critical thinking.” Surely,
We’ve already heard this word several times in our education, economy, and other social communities.

Literally, the term “critical” comes from the Greek word “Kritikos,” which means “able to judge or discern.” Critical thinking is a process of conceptualizing based on different
perspectives or angles, analyzing, reasoning, making a judgment by applying reliable evidence, and evaluating statements and situations.

Respectfully, let me give you an example of how to apply critical thinking skills in our daily lives. In these modern days, social media is becoming part of our daily lives as the Internet plays a crucial role in our society. As nearly all people are using social media, there are plenty of fake news stories or articles that we could assume are the truth, even though they don’t state it logically. Let’s say a random page provided information like this:

“In 2022, the number of people who love cats increased significantly, according to surveys.”

Due to this statement, the writer is trying to convey that there will be lots of people who love cats in 2022. As soon as we see this information, it is vital not to accept it as
completely true. We need to do research on this statement, as we don’t clearly know much in that field. We need to find out if the page that uploaded the statement is truthful or not.
Do they always conduct these kinds of surveys in reality? We also ought to consider if the writer is using their opinion to give unreliable information or if they are using well-founded
facts to convey dependable news to the reader? We should think about all possibilities and perspectives before making a judgment.

In conclusion,I want you to attempt to discern, analyze, question, interpret, and evaluate something or a situation that you are facing. Don’t trust even this content without your own
perspectives and checking with reliable resources

Is this content based on well-grounded facts and trustworthy information?

Or Is it just a student’s perspective on critical thinking?
